Blyth Sands Race is a beautifully scenic, always inspirational, often challenging approximately 5 mile handicap race along the beach between Blyth and Seaton Sluice Harbour. The race takes place each year on the first Sunday in December and this year is the 66th event. Registration is online only, there is no provision for entries on the day. Numbers are to be collected on the day from race HQ.
Prizes are offered for 1st, 2nd and 3rd placed finishers along with first place prizes for U18 male/female, Senior male/female and in 5 year categories for masters age groups. There are also prizes for the first, second and third teams of 4 from the clubs entered.
Blyth Running Club also awards trophies to the fastest male and female Blyth runner as well as the Sheila Greener trophy which recognises the first female finisher from Blyth running club.
