Lydiard parkrun is a free, timed 5k held every Saturday at 9:00am in Lydiard Park, Swindon. It's a two-lap course on paved paths with a short grass section, starting outside the Forest Cafe near the Hook Street entrance - a gentle climb through the park's west circuit, a wooded section, then a finish near Lydiard House. Free to take part, whatever your pace - walkers, joggers and runners are all welcome - you just need to register once (it's free) and bring a scannable copy of your barcode.
Tips: parking is available at the Hook Street and Hay Lane entrances but can be limited, so aim to arrive early, or walk/cycle if you can. The course can get muddy after rain, and dogs are welcome on a short lead. It's a shared park, so give way to other path users. Regulars grab a coffee at the Forest Cafe afterwards.
